Rehire policys, slander libale?

You would need to write to the owner and explain what happened. If the supervisor is still in place, it would not be in your best interest to work there because they will look for the slightest thing to discredit you. Employment is a two way street and I have turned down a few jobs purely because I did not agree with their working practices or ethics. You should never compromise your beliefs, honesty or integrity just to work for a company. Why work for a company with untrustworthy staff?
