Is there away to have different width of the same column in excel? ?

I'm trying to my accounting home work, one questions requires me to draw more than one ledger but i cant do it in the same sheet cause if i change the column widths in one ledger it changes the width in the other ledger. Is there away to have different width of the same column in excel?
