Does anyone miss the original Maverick McCain instead of the current Republican scripted Maverick we have now?

I have always been a McCain supporter and used to really get upset when the republicans would gang up on him for disagreeing with them, now it seems he has sold out to them, in order to be their front runner and get their support.
