Does the Catholic church condone or condemn Mel Gibson's tirade(s)?

Has the catholic church spoken in regards to his witness of the Catholic faith? Would the Christian faith speak against this? How does he excuse his behaviour in light of the facts? What would Jesus really do? What does the catholic church feel should be done?
